“Getting a new car is about more than just avoiding tomorrow’s 45-minute walk to the markets with (heavy!) toddlers on our shoulders. It’s about the years ahead of us serving some of the most remote parts of Madagascar (let alone, the world!). We’re preparing to be involved in encouraging and enabling discipleship across the Diocese of Toliara, which will involve visiting regions and churches with very poor roads. To do that we’ll need a car.
But cars in Madagascar are expensive. Especially 4WDs suited to the kind of roads we will drive even just from our home into the township of Toliara. Significant importation taxes keep new cars nearly double the price you’d pay in Australia, and used cars hold their value for lengthy periods. We’re hoping to buy a good-quality second-hand 4WD that will last the duration of our time here: God-willing, many years! We’d love you to consider contributing to enable this important part of seeking to see a firm and flourishing church in Madagascar. ” - Adam and Avril
